A private island with a permanent population of five, time stands still here and its gentle pace allows a rare ecosystem to thrive. Ancient buildings including a 15th century castle and a 17th century chapel have been preserved, a building once used as a coastguard station now matures our whiskey, while traditional farm buildings house our unique off-grid offshore micro-distillery. Very few get to visit this wondrous place.

Begin your Lambay Whiskey Experience at the seaside marina in Malahide north county Dublin. Guests are warmly welcomed by our Brand Ambassador and escorted to the island via private boat transfer.

Guided by a Lambay Whiskey Brand Ambassador:

  • We board a local shing boat on the shores of County Dublin.
  • At Lambay harbour, welcomed warmly by the island residents, a guided walk will begin through the ancient woods and
    gardens surrounding Lambay Castle.
  • A short hike to the summit of Lambay allows spectacular views of Ireland’s east coast and a chance to spot the island’s resident wallabies, sea birds and seals.
  • Onwards to the Lambay Whiskey Micro Distillery, housed in ancient farm buildings and one of the first off-grid distilleries in
    the world.
  • Finally, enjoy a private tasting in the Sea Cask Room, where our whiskey sleeps and ages exposed to the Irish Sea air.
  • Your island adventure is completed with a BBQ lunch and refreshments on the harbour – looking out over sea views towards Dublin – vistas seen by the rare few who visit our island. A truly unique and special experience.
